Cavemen Win 5th Straight; Friday Night H.S. Scores
Sophomore Quarterback Jordan Rosetta again filled the skies with touchdown passes, four of them, in leading the Grants Pass Cavemen to their fifth straight victory, 52 to 28, over the Liberty Falcons Friday night at Mel Ingram Field. Another sophomore, running back Trey Powers, ran for three more scores.

The win propelled the Cavemen’s OSAA ranking to 14th in the state and sets the stage for next Friday’s confrontation with conference leading and 5th ranked Sprague, again, at Mel Ingram Field. That game will be carried on KAJO’s sister station, KLDR, 98.3 f.m. due to a conflict with the Oregon Ducks game on KAJO.

In other conference action last night North Medford shut out McNary37 to 0 and Sheldon handed South Salem a 66 to 13 loss. Other local schools did not fare well Friday night. Mazama defeated Hidden Valley 34 to 7 on the Mustangs home field. Illinois Valley was shut out at home by Oakland 44 to 0 and Glendale lost to Camas Valley 46 to 14

GP Cavemen, NV Knights and RR Chieftains Pick Up Wins on Friday Night
Grants Pass quarterback Jordan Rosetta completed 26 out of 34 passes for three touchdowns to lead the Cavemen to a 42-30 victory over the South Medford Panthers at Spiegelberg Stadium on Friday night. Grants Pass moves to 4-and-1 on the season and will host Liberty in a nonconference game next Friday night at Mel Ingram Field.

Cavemen Vs. Panthers Tonight & Local H.S. Football Match Ups
The Grants Pass Cavemen will be on the road facing the South Medford Panthers at seven p.m. Because of the Duck game on KAJO, the Caveman game will be broadcast on KLDR, 98.3 with the pre-game set for 6:30. Each team is 3 and 1 but the Panthers hold a half game edge for 3rd place on the Cavemen in conference because their one loss came at the hands on a non-conference opponent.

In other conference action Sheldon took apart North Salem Thursday night 69 to 3. Tonight Sprague is at South Salem and North Medford is on the road at Sherwood in a nonconference game.

Locally the Hidden Valley Mustangs travel to face Henley, North Valley plays at Phoenix

Local Football Teams Post Big Scores, 109 Points Scored at Mel Ingram Field
There were big scores for local High School football teams Friday night not the least of which was the Grants Pass Caveman victory over South Salem 55 to 54. Sophomore quarterback Jordan Rosetta threw for five touchdowns with Isaac Johnson pulling in three of those, and Brevik Hill catching two of those. Trey Powers had two rushing touchdowns, one an 82 yard kick off return.

The win propelled Grants Pass into the OSAA’s top 20 rankings at 19th, solidly in 4th place in conference. Two other conference games saw Sheldon dispose of McNary 65 to7, and Sprague handle North Salem 65 to 7.

Cavemen Host Salem Saxons
The Grants Pass Cavemen host the South Salem Saxons tonight at Mel Ingram Field. The Cavemen looking to avenge a 40 to 6 shellacking the Saxons administered last year. The game will be carried live on KAJO with the pregame scheduled to air at 6:30 p.m.

West Salem beat North Medford last night 35 to 0 in Salem.

In other conference action McNary is at Sheldon and North Salem is at Sprague.

GP Cavemen Blast North Salem and NV Knights Rout HV Mustangs
The Grants Pass Cavemen football team went on the road to North Salem and beat the Vikings 46-20 last night to improve to 2-and-1 on the season. Jordan Rosetta threw for four touchdowns, Tim Hart had two TD receptions and Treyton Powers ran for 180 yards on the ground in the win. The Cavemen return home to Mel Ingram Field next Friday night to take on South Salem.

Cavemen Travel to North Salem, Knights & Mustangs Clash in Merlin
The Grants Pass Cavemen football team ventures outside southern Oregon for its second road trip of the season tonight when they take on the North Salem Vikings. The Vikings are 0 and 2 on the young season and lost to South Medford 28 to 6. The Cavemen are 1 and 1 coming off a confidence boosting 49 to 9 win over McNary last Friday at Mel Ingram Field. The game will be broadcast live on K A J O with the pregame airing at 6:30 prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff.

Other conference action has Sheldon at North Medford, South Medford at South Salem, and Sprague at McNary.

Cavemen Win Homecoming & Local scores
Jordan Rosetta Threw for three touchdowns, Trey Powers rushed for two, all in he first half and the Grants Pass Cavemen dominated the McNary Celtics in Grants Pass’s homecoming Friday night 49 to 9. The Cavemen, now 1 and 1 on the season, take to the road next Friday when they face North Salem.

North Salem lost to South Medford last night 28 to 6. Other conference action included Sprague beating North Medford 36 to 22, Sheldon outscoring West Salem 42 to 3, and South Salem lost to Tualatin 66 to 22.
