This week we are proud to recognize Hidden Valley High School Junior, Mauricio Mendez.
Mauricio Mendez is a two-sport athlete with the Hidden Valley Mustangs and stands at 6'6". At first impression it's expected he plays basketball, which of course he does as a Junior at the post for the Mustangs. Mauricio credits his mother for his basketball acumen. She played college ball for Idaho and Alaska and coached him in his early years. Mauricio says his best sport is baseball where he loves to pitch. Mauricio credits his father for his baseball skills. Dad played pro ball in the A's organization. Mauricio's goal would be to play division one baseball with a shot at playing in the Major leagues. As for studies, he is pursuing a business degree with the aim of helping his family's business.
